JULY IS BERRY SHORTCAKE CELEBRATION
|
Everyone is Invited To Salem Public Market’s
Annual Berry Shortcake Celebration
Come to the Salem Public Market on Saturday, July 10th and get fresh local berries shortcake in return for a donation of two or more non-perishable food items for Marion/Polk Food Share. Cakes are created by Cascade Baking Co. Salem. We are talking Fresh!
Oregon’s oldest farmers market is open year round every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., but only Mid July is the Berry Shortcake Celebration with numerous special offerings:
*Friends Of The Salem Public Library will offer a large variety of books for sale.
* Marion County Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer your gardening questions. If you have an ailing plant, bring a fresh leaf sample for an answer to it’s problem.
*Salem Audubon will share its knowledge of wildlife and wildlife-friendly gardening at its booth, as well as offering bird and bat houses, bird feeders, and embroidered tote bags for sale.
*Salem Public Market will offer a chance for everyone to go green and dispose of used plastic plant containers during this event. Please clean all loose soil from your used plant containers and bring then to the Berry Short Cake collection site. Salem Public Market will deliver them to Agri-Plas Inc. in Keizer to be recycled.
Salem Public Market is located indoors at 1240 Rural Ave. SE in Salem, just 9 blocks south of historic Deepwood Estates, between 12th and 13th streets. For more information, call 503-623-6605.
